EAS

Mission

More and more people from different countries are living in the Netherlands. It is and remains important that everyone can read and hear the Word of God in his or her own language.

EAS stands for Evangelielectuur Anderstaligen Service. The mission of the EAS Foundation is to enable fellow countrymen to share the rich message of the Gospel. In this, the EAS wants to be a link for God's Kingdom.

EAS' material is used by, for example, multicultural/foreign-speaking churches, Christian foundations for foreign countries, foreign students and truck drivers, international fairs, churches with non-native visitors, prostitutes, non-native prisoners and refugees.

THE STORY OF GERT AND ANS van der Ven

Background

While working at Phillips in the 1980s, Gert worked with Moroccan and Turkish migrant workers, and for this the need for foreign-language Christian reading materials was caused by. Bibles in different languages were available, but in the first contact this is often too big a step. In that way a brochure, mini-booklet, tractates or cards are more appropriate to start the conversation about the gospel in an easy going way.

Together with Ans they got the vision to make Christian reading material and films available in different languages. This is how EAS was founded in 1989. With the arrival of refugees and seekers of asylum the range expanded. Therefore, they moved from their home to a workspace in the Reformed Church in Harderwijk.

VOLUNTEERS

Team

Spreading God's word could never exist without the passion and commitment of our volunteers.

EAS is run entirely by volunteers from various church denominations. Gert van der Ven (founder), Alexander de Heer and Mattanja Roosegaarde Bishop-Jans are the people to approach within the organisation.

In addition, Adri, Gemma, Gerard, Riekie, Rita, Richard and Roelie support the EAS behind the scenes by processing all the incoming material and preparing it for shipment. The EAS is very grateful to God for these talented people, who all are showing tremendous passion and commitment.

We can always use people to support the work. This can be anything from a day part to once a month. All help is welcome. Join us with your help!
